01 The Treasury House
The building is located in the very centre of Šiauliai, in its historical part. It is one of the few surviving historical buildings in Šiauliai. The architect of this building was Stanislovas Kačkovskis. It was built in 1907–1908 and is an early 20th-century historicism structure. Initially, the city treasury — the "Treasury Vault" — operated here, a special place where state assets were kept. In 1919, the Šiauliai County Workers' Deputies Council Executive Committee was established in the building; during the interwar period, the Bank of Lithuania Šiauliai branch moved in. From 1998, the independent Lithuanian Savings Bank operated here. In 2008, the building was included in the Cultural Property Register of the Republic of Lithuania. In 2019, the international telecommunications company DIDWW opened the Telephony Museum here.
